Business Planning Tools
Texas Cooperative Extension The Texas Cooperative Extension program transfers new knowledge and technologies from research in environment and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, youth and community development as well as production agriculture. County Extension agents serve as community educators and are supported by Extension specialists who provide research and educational resources. Extension serves all 254 Texas counties through 12 district centers and 250 county offices, employing more than 950 professional educators located across the state.
Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship Virtually all of the high-growth businesses of the last decade have been involved in the development and commercialization of new technologies or innovative services. The Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship specifically focuses on entrepreneurship, new venture development and management through the development of academic courses, basic and applied research and service to the larger business community. Technology Commercialization
Technology Licensing Office The Technology Licensing Office of The Texas A&M University System helps researchers move their inventions from the laboratory to commercial application. With 293 patents, nine universities, eight state agencies and a health science center that serves more than 88,000 students, the A&M System has more than $480 million in research projects underway today. The TLO will work with you to commercialize these technologies and to partner with you in creating new ones.
Technology Transfer and Commercialization Initiative Learn more about Texas A&M's new Technology Transfer and Commercialization Initiative, a "one-stop shop" to connect commercial businesses with researchers. Support for your commercialization project will be provided through innovative management and recruitment of technology commercialization support services such as small business incubators, accelerators, venture capitalists groups and angel investors.

Office of the Vice President of Research The Office of the Vice President of Research develops and implements research policies, coordinates research activities with other Texas A&M University System agencies, and promotes a climate conducive to innovative faculty research. Profiles also include direct links to e-mail, a personal home page, an online CV, patent abstracts (and full-text where available), publication abstracts and available research grants.
Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) TEES's know-how in applying leading-edge research to industry needs helps keep companies competitive in world markets. Technology developed by TEES’s researchers covers areas as diverse as electric power distribution, new fuel cells and more efficient methods of refining cooking oils. TEES has worked with more than 1,000 industry sponsors, annually supported 600 engineering graduate students through assistantships and 240 undergraduates in research activities and employs more than 1,300 people in about 4,500 projects. Health Science Center The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center is committed to excellence in improving health through integrated education, research and public service programs that emphasize accessibility and public and community health. The center includes the Baylor College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Institute for Biosciences and Technology and School of Rural Public Health. Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) World renowned for its hands-on, customized training, TEEX offers a wide range of technical training programs to enhance the skills of employed workers and to prepare workers entering the labor force. Firefighting, emergency medical services, law enforcement, heavy construction, public works, electric power, transportation, telecommunications, computer technology, maritime, electronics and building construction crafts are just a few of the fields of training offered. Congress designated TEEX as the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center to focus on preparing emergency responders to combat domestic terrorism. Several federal programs are aimed at helping small businesses become more competitive and assisting in the transfer of technology from NASA and federal labs to the private sector.
