With nearly 50,000 students at Texas A&M University and another 50,000 at other nearby colleges, a steady stream of top young minds flow into the Research Valley each year. And our high quality lifestyle keeps them here.
Our workforce spans a global research. The Research Valley is engaged in projects in over 80 countries, representing every continent on earth. Our public schools teach 30 different languages.
Highly skilled labor is affordable and widely available. 17% of our adult population has a master’s degree or PhD, yet on the whole, The Research Valley’s mean wage is 10-12% lower than the national average. We have the highest per capita concentration of materials scientists, engineering teachers, chemistry teachers, and veterinary technologists of any MSA in the nation.
